A curriculum that combines ensuring children have a secure scientific knowledge of the world in which they live with an awareness and appreciation of science in the local area, targeted and engaging enrichment opportunities and an appreciation of how the subject as a field impacts all of our lives.

Caring: In a world where the environment is changing like never before, our children are encouraged to understand the impact that our living habits have on plants, our bodies and the environment.

Connections: Through our science curriculum, our children make both explicit and contextualised connections between scientific disciplines.

Communication: The high value placed on the ‘SC1’ element of the curriculum means that children are consistently urged to communicate and challenge each other on their understanding of scientific concepts.

Curiosity: Our school sees science as a key subject in which children’s curiosity of why the world ‘works’ in the way that it does is understood.
