2025 Coffee Morning Programme\nProgramme outline, joint expectations and potential dates.\nObjective: Enhance the well-being and safety of local children by empowering\nparents/carers through informative coffee mornings, workshops and online webinars.\n\nWhat we provide:\n A committed group of 2/4 Parent Empowerment Champions, who have been\ntrained in safeguarding - will be attending your school once a week for 5\nsessions.\n Fridays 8:45 - start time 9AM - 11:00AM 2 hours. (this sometimes can run\nover a little).\n\n Our PECs have Fully enhanced DBS's checks completed.\n PECs will hold Volunteer Islington ID badges.\n PECs will also be wearing their PECs T-Shirt, so they can be easily identified.\n On site Lead PEC for the Coffee Morning Programme- Debbie Felix, who is\nalso the Chair of the PECs.\n PECs will facilitate and run workshops on topical subjects, which may impact\non young people and their families.\n We will Contribute £300 to each school to cover the cost of teas and coffees\netc\n Provide Leaflets to advertise to parents/carers\n PECs will attend your school prior to the coffee morning starting to support\nwith the advertisement of the group and will speak with the parents either\nbefore and or after school (school gates)\n Offer the first 7 parents' vouchers (the value of £15/20).\n Parent/carers feedback forms to be filled in for each session.\n\n Leaflets for sign posting parents to other services and organisation.\n Offer access to our free online webinars to all parents/carers within your\nwhole school.\n At the completion of the programme offer a free brunch for all the coffee\nmorning parents/carers to attend at one designated school.\n PECs will conduct themselves in a respectful, professional, culturally\ncompetent and compassionate manner within.\n\nWhat we require from your school:\n Committed to a continued partnership in driving this programme forward in\ninvolving parents/carers within the school.\n Committed to advertising and pushing the coffee mornings across your school\n(via leaflets, digital platforms, emails, WhatsApp, PTA groups and word of\nmouth) to all parents/carers.\n The PECs are introduced to the DSL beforehand and is clear who to contact\nshould there be any safeguarding concerns.\n With the £300 contribution you will provide, teas, coffee, herbal teas and so\non during every session.\n Provide a private room which is heated / and or well-ventilated comfortable\nand has access to power point (and offer any technical support if needed on\nthe day).\n Store the information box at the school in a safe place after each session until\nthe last session.\n Advertise our free online webinars.\n That one designated school will host the celebration brunch at the end of the\nprogramme and that we will all encourage the coffee morning parents/carers\nto participate and attend.\n We ask that all school staff are respectful, kind, courteous, helpful and\nsupportive to our PECs at the first point of contact, which will help to elevate\nany nerves and tensions, which they may be feeling especially on their first\nday ��\n\nPlease Note:\nSome PECs may arrive later than others due to their commitment of school runs.\nSome of our PECs have additional needs and disabilities.\n\nPlease do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.\nWe look forward to working with you all but especially meeting your parents/carers.\nElaine Cato\nParental Support Team Project Manager
